The Emotional Connection and Illness

We all carry emotional baggage to varying degrees—painful childhood memories, grief over the loss of a loved one, the devastation of a marriage or relationship break up, the trauma of physical or sexual violation.  Who hasn’t suffered rejection, betrayal, hardship, failure, shame, longing, guilt, loss or self-esteem, or sorrow to some degree?

It’s easier to believe there is a way around experiencing sorrow, that we can avoid pain and lose nothing regarding fullness and joy.  Through my life I have recognized that it is not the pain that hurts us most, it is resistance to pain that wears us out. We fear it, fight it, run from it, ignore it or try to bury it.

Emotions are simply a form of energy that runs through your body like an electrical current.  Each emotion has its own energy frequency and powerful emotions such as pain, fear, grief, disappointment, panic, anxiety, anger, and longing, shock your body like an electrical charge, causing lesions along your neural pathways and disrupts your body’s natural energy flow.  They can be referred to as “trapped emotions”. Your body can store these trapped emotions and they can show up as back pain, migraines, asthma, abdominal pain, allergies, cancer, chest pain, chronic fatigue, constipation, infertility, irritable bowel syndrome, joint pain, knee pain, sinus problems, PTSD and many more.   Since trapped emotions are made of energy, just like the rest of the body, they exert an influence on the physical tissues.

Releasing trapped negative emotions helps to create more ideal conditions for the body to heal physically.  There are a variety of charts that link emotions to parts of the body, i.e. the emotion associated with the liver is anger. The lungs are associated with grief and so on. I use the Emotion Code chart to help me identify and release negative emotional feelings, issues, hang-ups, and baggage for my clients.   By harboring these trapped emotions, they can block people from love and happiness and they can make a person feel disconnected from others.

Recognizing that it is time to get to the ROOT of your or your child's problems and remove their underlying causes is what can help problems go away.
